"Identity" by Lauren Thomas
I wanted to do a video that explored the theme of identity. This was inspired by The Office scene where the main character Jim dresses up like Dwight and Dwight claims he has stolen his identity. I believe that this is an issue that everyone struggles with. Every person wants to be fully known and accepted for who they are. Identity has been the theme of my life for the past few years and I feel like this video perfectly encapsulates my journey and who I am as a person.
The First Perspective: Documentary style or perspective (The Office scenes), which are foreshadows the scenes in the next shot.
Second Perspective: First person perspective or from my point of view. Some of the shots are me filming and those are to help the viewer experience things from my view. for example the stop motion view of the art is purposefully done as if the viewer were drawing the art from my perspective.
Third Perspective: Third person perspective. This is when the audience is watching me interact with them (the audience is the camera perspective).
TV Scenes: The Office
Songs in order of appearance:
- The Office Theme song
- Truth by Alex Ebert
- Oogum Boogum Song by Brenton Wood
