Easy Desk DIY

During this COVID summer I have been focusing on remodeling my room with a college student's budget. The first thing I did was paint my room a light grey/white (used to be yellow and green...thank you 10 year old Lauren for that). I then slowly began collecting things I would see in-stores that were on sale but still up with the trends that followed my style. As the weeks flew on I realized I NEEDED to paint my desk. To me, it just seemed outdated (that red needed to be updated). I knew this desk needed to be green and my whole family doubted my vision. I had a design and I just needed to get it out of my system. Someone was going to be proven wrong and if that was me I was going to go down with the ship.
This DIY was the simplest thing and ANYONE can do it. I used Annie Sloan chalk paint (olive color), which allowed me to paint right on the desk without any prep or sanding needing to be done. Due to this I was able to paint the desk in four hours (two coats of paint) and move into my room without a weird smell all in the same day!
SUPPLIES:
- 1-2 in. wide paint brush
- Annie Sloan chalk paint & wax finish (I forgot to buy the wax finish but I recommend using this to help prevent the paint from scratching and wearing off)
- Towel
- Sponge
- Water
